I believe that we have a social and moral duty to act as Grandfathers to guide the younger generation away from this mob-mentality mindlessness. It’s getting existentially dangerous for all of us.
To that end here is an excellent interview of Murray Gel-Mann introducing the history of public intellectuals and the decay of public discourse. I found the interviewer Richard Grannon through a therapist recommendation in Krausers very impressive talk.
Richard strikes me as highly charismatic and deeply well rounded. I’m working my way though his whole youtube channel.
The Rubin Report is another channel I would recommend to any one who finds themselves siding with any political camp. The stated goal of the “intellectual dark web” is to have open debates that allow for calm and reasoned rational discussions, where disagreements are allowed, and even respected.
I think that there is currently a global problem of people losing the ability to think for themselves, which is being fueled by radical academics. I believe that this is more than a culture war, but could lead to a very dangerous flash point, if not now, when these idiots gain more and more government and institutional power. They’ve already captured Google.
It looks deeply dark to me, because these NPCs are vaccinated against learning how to think. It’s as if you can’t get there from here.
How do you break through?
Richard Grannon talks on youtube about the serious epidemic of mental health issues that are the direct result of social media. He says that even though it’s extremely harmful, you can’t take away the cell phones from the teenagers. That’s like saying that you can’t take away heroin from addicts. Even if you know the potential harm. And you can’t. So what can you do? Very often, there is nothing you can do.
Yet these NPCs are dangerous. I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say that they are an existential threat. And I’m not talking about libtards. I’m talking NPCs on the left, right, male, female, and of all political persuasions.
What the hell are we going to do?
The public and private education system obviously needs a total overhaul. But how? And in the meantime?
Let’s all pray that the next powerful politcal leader is horribly corrupt and stupid. A charismatic leader could easily capture all these NPCs and cause great horrible havoc. Don’t forget that humans have an innate instinct to kill non-tribal members. Ethnic cleansing and genoside and civil wars don’t repeat merely as power plays; those are instinctual behaviors. Very easy to call upon.
People on the left and the right are both eagerly and openly calling for vio l en t r3v0lusun. On youtube, in forums, everywhere.
I recently came across the definition of word salad. It’s used by those with Alzheimers, people with cluster B personality disorders when trying to confound and manipulate others, and hypnotists who are stringing together suggestive words that don’t make sense as a meaningful sentence.
Immediately on hearing the definition, I was reminded of Mike Cernovich.
So I Googled “Mike Cernovich word salad” and there were many hits. He gets called out on his word salad a lot, but doesn’t give any hint of self knowledge that his sentences are often scrambled eggs, and his paragraphs tossed spaghetti. Mike addressed it briefly https://rokfin.com/post/257 and seems to not understand what he’s doing.
I saw mike interviewed on the Alex Jones podcast. Alex also uses word salad all the time. What a team.
It’s amazing, and disheartening, that both are so popular. Apparently it’s well known that you actually have to act stupid to be popular, and it seems to actually help to be stupid too.
Actually I used to like and respect Cernovic’s old Danger and Play game blog. Seeing him live was a surprising let down – his thoughts are extraordinarily disorganized, and he doesn’t seem to know or care about that.
Anyone catch Alex Jones on the Joe Rogan podcast? What a loon. Yet millions and millions of views for his collected works, and he was extremely popular.
Man…
Strange times.
Oh, speaking of Alzheimer’s and word salad, there is growing consensus and concern that Trump has a nasty case of the Alzheimer’s. We’ll never know what he could have done, if he was not so severely impaired. One critic of his current state of mind said that 20 years ago he was sharp as a tack, and near a genius.
And from https://www.patheos.com/blogs/dispatches/2017/09/12/alex-jones-isnt-even-trying-coherent/
“Alex Jones’ bizarre conspiracy theories rarely make the slightest bit of sense, but they aren’t usually just gibberish. On a recent show with our old friend Mike Cernovich, he delivered a paragraph that is nothing more than a word salad. See if you can make any sense out of this:
WTF
Jones said:
It sounds like someone gave a monkey a dictionary and his body weight in LSD and had him randomly point to words. It barely even qualifies as gibberish. Cernovich, though, agreed with whatever the hell he said.
Cernovich agreed, adding that
Cernovich continued.”
